A New Look at Wound Cleansing
In managing wounds, traditional methods like soap and water or stronger solutions have limitations. Soap and water are ineffective against certain pathogens, while stronger solutions can potentially disrupt the healing process and harm human cells.
Introducing Granudacyn® Wound Cleanser – Tough on Pathogens. Compatible with human cells.
One Solution. Many Wounds.
Granudacyn® is an irrigation solution that is safely preserved by hypochlorous acid (HOCl). It is specifically designed for cleansing and moisturizing a wide range of wounds, including chronic, acute, surgical, and contaminated wounds. It is also suitable for first- and second-degree burns and can be applied to sensitive tissues such as cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and bones, as well as in the ear, mouth, peritoneum, and fistulas*. This versatility makes Granudacyn® the go-to wound cleanser for most wound care needs.
Effective on All Types of Wounds
Granudacyn® has been proven to be effective and safe for use on all types of wounds. Whether you’re dealing with chronic wounds like diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, or venous leg ulcers, or you have acute and contaminated wounds or first and second-degree burns, Granudacyn® can provide the care you need. Numerous tests have demonstrated the efficacy, biocompatibility, and safety of Granudacyn® in wound management.
Reduces Malodor
Wound malodor, often associated with necrotic tissue or bacterial colonization in the wound bed, can be a distressing issue. Granudacyn® effectively reduces wound malodor, allowing for a more pleasant and comfortable healing process.
Long Storage. Always at Hand.
With Granudacyn®, you don’t have to worry about complicated storage requirements. The solution can be stored at room temperature after opening for up to 60 days, making it convenient for multi-patient use.
Better Care, Better Quality of Life
Granudacyn® aims to provide better care and improve the quality of life for patients. By effectively tackling infection without interrupting the natural healing process, it supports patient well-being and promotes optimal healing.
How it Works
Granudacyn® works in a way that mimics the natural immune system’s response to pathogens:
- Disrupts the cell wall structures: The hypochlorous acid in Granudacyn® increases the permeability of the cell wall of microorganisms, compromising their integrity.
- Osmolysis leads to cell rupture: Granudacyn® creates a hypotonic environment, causing water to flow into the cells to equalize the osmotic gradient. This process, known as osmolysis, leads to increased internal pressure and eventual cell rupture.
To use Granudacyn®, simply apply it to the wound bed before cleaning the wound. There is no need for neutralization or rinsing. Granudacyn® can also be used to moisten the wound dressing and directly moisturize the wound itself.

- HOCL can be used as an eye drop and contact lens solution.
